About Us
We were founded in November 2019 recognizing that very few services existed to meet the needs of women and teens in need. We set out to see how we could help, driven by the belief that everyone is worthy of love and worthy of a life without personal necessities. As we discovered gaps in existing services, we committed to building them, always informed by the people we served. This relationship-first and needs-based model has driven Purses with A Purpose's growth.
From early outreach to building relationships, PWP has evolved into a vital service provider. Our mission is to provide purses/backpacks filled with basic hygiene necessities for struggling women and teens in the Treasure Valley, including those experiencing homelessness, refugees, women living in recovery centers and crisis centers, those escaping from domestic abuse, sex trafficking, and those recently transitioning out of incarceration.
