The 2nd Annual Purses With a Purpose Fundraiser was a night filled with laughter, connection, and heartfelt giving. Hosted in early February, the event brought together local supporters, business sponsors, volunteers, and community leaders for an evening that celebrated kindness in action.
Guests arrived dressed to impress, but the energy was warm and welcoming — more family than formal. Tables were decorated with symbolic centerpieces: elegant handbags overflowing with flowers, representing both beauty and resilience. Throughout the evening, guests were reminded why the mission matters — that every donation, every purse, and every note of encouragement changes a real person’s life.
The event included a silent auction, live music, and heartfelt testimonies from recipients and volunteers. One woman shared how receiving a purse gave her courage during her transition out of homelessness. Another volunteer spoke about how her experience packing purses reconnected her with her community and gave her new meaning in retirement. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
