At Purses With a Purpose, our volunteers are the heart of our mission. They\u2019re the reason thousands of purses have reached women in crisis. Each one brings their own story, their own energy, and their own way of making the world a little brighter.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3130\" data-end=\"3540\">Volunteers come from all walks of life \u2014 teachers, students, retirees, business owners, mothers, and daughters. What unites them is a shared desire to lift others up. They gather weekly to sort donations, clean and prepare purses, and write thoughtful notes of encouragement. Some spend their weekends collecting items from friends and family; others help coordinate fundraising events or delivery logistics.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3542\" data-end=\"3947\">These women understand that service doesn\u2019t always make headlines \u2014 sometimes, it\u2019s the quiet work behind the scenes that changes lives the most. In our packing sessions, laughter fills the room. Strangers become friends as they share stories and tie ribbons around each finished purse. There\u2019s something profoundly healing about helping others while surrounded by a community that believes in kindness.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3949\" data-end=\"4162\">For many of our volunteers, the work is personal. Some have faced hardships themselves or known someone who has. Packing a purse is more than a task \u2014 it\u2019s a way of paying forward the support they once received.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4164\" data-end=\"4200\">What our volunteers do every week:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4201\" data-end=\"4482\">\n<li data-start=\"4201\" data-end=\"4261\">\n<p data-start=\"4203\" data-end=\"4261\">Collect and organize donated purses and hygiene products<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4262\" data-end=\"4321\">\n<p data-start=\"4264\" data-end=\"4321\">Assemble \u201ccare purses\u201d with essential and comfort items<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4322\" data-end=\"4371\">\n<p data-start=\"4324\" data-end=\"4371\">Write heartfelt notes to include in every bag<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4372\" data-end=\"4424\">\n<p data-start=\"4374\" data-end=\"4424\">Plan events, fundraisers, and outreach campaigns<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4425\" data-end=\"4482\">\n<p data-start=\"4427\" data-end=\"4482\">Deliver purses to partner shelters and crisis centers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4484\" data-end=\"4764\">Beyond the logistics, volunteering at Purses With a Purpose is about belonging. It\u2019s a reminder that empathy is contagious \u2014 and when women support women, incredible things happen.
